Hoop Trails

Also over this break I got together with a friend who likes to hola hoop! She has the fancy led hola hoops so while she was dancing with them I took some nice long and quick exposure shots of her and I'm pretty happy with how they came out. Would love to continue more of this.

A Visit to DC

Over the break between classes, my family and I went on a trip to Washington DC. It was just for the day but its was one of the most eventful days we've had in a while. We left early Sunday morning, arrived and park our car by 10 am and made out way to Ford's Theatre where we had a walk through audio tour of the Lincoln museum. Later on we got to see the Declaration of Independence and Bill of rights along with many other fascinating documents that have been recorded throughout the years. One of my favorites was going into the Smithsonian museum, there was so much information on so many different things I had never heard of before. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore much of the Smithsonian but we did get to see all the famous monuments. Just before we went to the smithsonian we headed to the capitol building. The top have was under construction so there was a ton of scaffolding around the top half of the building but didn't take away that much from the beauty of the building. We were pretty much able to see the Washington monument the whole time we were there. I was able to catch some very nice shots at night from the opposite side of the reflection pool. The craziest part of this whole trip was definitely going to the Lincoln monument. There were hundreds of people all around! I was blown away, majority of these people were just sitting at the steps of the monument but even still there were plenty more up the stairs and down by the reflecting pool. it was almost impossible to get a far away shot of the monument from the base of the stairs because the conditions weren't the best and everyone else flashes that were going off were not helping the situation at all. I did come home with some great shot while trying about my new wide angle lens so overall it was a great day, would definitely do it again.
