Still Life
For another class our assignment was for use to get comfortable with using the studio lights and set up, we got to choose a still life to bring in and photography, I luckily found an old back brace I had to wear when I was younger, which created many interesting shadows and shapes. Using the different lights and colored gels in different ways was a lot of fun to come up with different ideas on how to use the equipment.
Urban/Suburban
This week's assignment was to capture the urban or suburban landscape. Living on long island we have an advantage to this we have suburbia all around us in our own home neighborhoods, and we also have the lovely city of New York just a drive away. For this assignment I wanted to focus on the different street and traffic signs that we use in our daily lives without taking a real look at them.

Self Portraits
My first assignment this semester was self portraits. I'm not too big a fan of taking self portraits, I don't enjoy being photographed and it is also very tedious and time consuming. I do like the idea of being nude or revealing more in self portraits. It shows who the person is literally, then hiding behind clothes who give of an expression of who they are or are trying to be. Of course I had to pay with some lights too.

Hoop Trails
Also over this break I got together with a friend who likes to hola hoop! She has the fancy led hola hoops so while she was dancing with them I took some nice long and quick exposure shots of her and I'm pretty happy with how they came out. Would love to continue more of this.
